Yeah, I'm sure Google (or any of Huawei's American suppliers really) is not too happy about it either.
No sig due to budget cuts.

Well, at least existing equipment can continue to get patched. Though for how long remains to be seen.

If I was China, just put an export ban on all western tech goods to the USA for a month or two. Nothing leaves mainland China.

Nothing like disgruntled consumers that cant buy their shiny.

If folks are dumb enough to let one country build everything...

ARM is the latest partner to shun Huawei, so how will it design chips?
UK chip designer cites “US origin technology" as a reason to cut ties with Huawei.
...
ARM's interpretation of the US export ban comes as a surprise, as the company is not based in the US. ARM's headquarters are in Cambridge, UK (hence the BBC scoop), and it was bought by Japan's Softbank in 2016. Everyone in the tech industry is still discovering how broadly Trump's executive order will be interpreted, and ARM believes it is affected due to its designs containing “US origin technology."

Google announced a handful of new rules that Android developers must abide by to launch a game on its official storefront yesterday, including one that requires developers to disclose the odds for any “randomized virtual items” ahead of purchase.

Aptoide Launches ‘Google, Play Fair!’ Campaign Following Monopolistic Practices

Last year, a third-party app store by the name of Aptoide had sued Google in the EU accusing them of engaging in monopolistic practices. The app store has been available to Android users for quite some time but was flagged by Google Play Protect as ‘harmful’. Now, Aptoide is starting the “Google, Play Fair!” campaign to state its case and also accuse Google of “preventing users” from choosing their own app store.
