Pricey for a 19yo, that's almost Mbappe money. Good business for Benfica though.

Meanwhile, Liverpool buy another Dutch CB, a 6'2" 17yo for £1.3m, he looks pretty strong already and could be a nice Klopp project:

WWC Norway 0 - England 3

Some nice goals from England, but the back line worries me. I'll be surprised if we can get past the winner of USA/France.

They've conceded one goal in five games!

Norway almost scored three on them in the second half. One was off the post, and another required a goal-line clearance from Houghton with the keeper beaten.

But that's football though, and the cold facts are that England probably have the best defence in the tournament. They might not look like it, but to have a defender in the right position to clear a shot in the first place is more judgement than luck.
The best defenders literally turn last ditch clearances and tackles into an art form.

You need to look at who they've played against before claiming they have the "best" defence. Canada had a reputation for not letting in many goals before they were taken apart by the Netherlands in the group stage.

Thing is it's knockout football though now, how a team has played in the group stages is almost irrelevant as it's about getting the win. France and USA are arguably better teams, but until tonight they won't have played anyone that good either.

And having the best defence is literally all about conceding the fewest goals, that's how it works. :P
I think England have been improving every game, they have a super team spirit with a lot of heart and that goes a bloody long way.
