I get a Premiere kit tomorrow that was 40% off. Stadia and other streaming stuff just feel like they should be done from completely silent hardware or not at all.

I don't really expect to buy games for it i admit.
Good ol USA, where you worry more about being killed by the police than anyone else...but that could happen too.

Enjoying it much more without my PCs wack video handling in the way. I don't know what I plan to do with it yet though other than play the Pro selection for a few months.

So far I can't complain, even playing GRID on there worked really well. I wouldn't use it for space sims probably, but have only tried with the controller recently.

From what I've heard, the biggest negative for Stadia is that 1080P will only use H.264 (adaptive?) instead of VP9, so a lot of 1080p users have been using an extension to force a 4K stream to their 1080p output. Heh. Lame.

I guess, now that I've got the XSS coming I probably won't use it as much as I was planning to.

H.264 is the most efficient codec at 1080p though so why wouldn't they choose that?, VP9 should only work better at 4K.

Because it's got obvious visual artifacts? If that's your jam, cool.

Sure, because I know you hate facts eh?

VP9 is basically equivalent to H.265 here btw, they're both more suited to 4K, and really aren't any more efficient than H.264 at lower resolutions.
