If you like wasting five or more hours on one ten minute segment that doesn't even seem like it should be that hard that's cool.

Fortunately it was pretty rare I had that problem (I can only really point to one segment in the DLC) but bleh.
Good ol USA, where you worry more about being killed by the police than anyone else...but that could happen too.

Rarely do I agree with people complaining about anti-consumer software practices but this is the biggest middle finger to people who’ve bought a game I remember.

Yeah on 2nd thoughts they can wait for the money, I'll buy it when it's 9.99 (I'm patient, 2-3 years no problem).

I guess the whole point of this madness is so people can't just buy a used copy and give the devs and publisher nothing.

Only way I can make any sense of it, and I wish they'd have just said that and done the whole thing a little better.

The game is definitely worth the cost at any rate, assuming you don't have to upgrade such.

Greetings!
Control developer Remedy doubled operating profits in 2020 without launching a new game
Control is still the golden goose

Long-tail sales: While many game developers release their projects with the expectation of selling the majority of copies in the first few weeks of release, some titles become major long-term successes. These rare gems can earn their makers buckets of cash far beyond their initial release date. The Witcher 3 and Grand Theft Auto V are two examples of these games, and now, Control has officially joined their ranks.
