All done. F4 is now totally finished mission wise. Oh well 9 months and 730 hours of entertainment for £30 (adding on DLC) isn't bad value really.

Just got a couple of settlements to finish off and a little exploration on Far Harbour island and not much else to do really.

Is there an achievement for that?
Wonder how many game owners finished it.

So, what do you reckon, a couple hundred hours more?

Still finishing up some side quests, postponing what I think is a major decision to make. About 70h in, more than I expected after a less good first impression :) :o

So, I'm quite surprised to say that Fallout 4 is now the Fallout game I've spent the most time on, according to Steam :o

Didn't expect that, especially considering I don't have any DLC (I completed all DLCs for Fallout 3 and New Vegas). I think not being level-capped really helps. I have to admit the game has been growing on me, even though the main quest is not that exciting.

Definitely a good value :)

I guess the other part I enjoyed was just trying to find every little hidden location and stash of stuff. Finding the little stories and situations. The abandoned trailer with the two skeletons , one with a gun on the floor and a shattered skull the other in a dress stretched across the bed with two holes in the chest and blood stain up the wall... The story of the ghoul toy maker, The gas canister shack, the rocket truck, all the stuff like that that adds depth.

Just yesterday I was in an area in Far Harbour that I had been to quite often and something caught my eye in the trees. I walked over and found a different type of truck/trailer. "Hello!" I thought. Suffice to say there was a nice surprise inside, that tied in with a bit of info I picked up in a cellar bunker a couple of days before.

Yeah I think the world building is really well done, with lots of references to previous Fallouts, really ties up the whole thing. The main quest/story is a bit bland, but the rest makes up for it :)

Yeah the core concept of the main story is pretty cool, it's just not fleshed out as well as it could have been.

Well I'm now totally done with Fallout4 now. After 767 hours I've quit the game. Cant really think of anything else to do. I wont play through it again differently as the main fun for me was exploring and that wont change.

So I headed back to my home at Diamond City, emptied my pockets into my containers, sat on the couch and turned off the light.

I fired up New Vegas at the weekend. Hmmm didn't really grab me like F4. The colour scheme just looks all wrong. I'll play around with it a bit more but I don't see 700+ hours from this one.

Yeah Fallout 3 and New Vegas are quite a bit different from Fallout 4. I actually spent more time on F4 than on either F3 or NV, despite all my criticism, so that's saying a lot

New Vegas is really good in terms of character/story development, especially considering the DLC, that tie into each other nicely.

As for F4, I stopped playing after finishing it (about 100 hours in) - don't really feel like playing again, to be honest. I think I can deduce what the other endings are, and it's just too much work to get there. Might get some DLCs if I ever find them dirt cheap.
