Fallout 4

Post by thegrommit » Tue Feb 16, 2016 6:59 pm

I was a little surprised we had no mention of Fallout 4 since Impar posted about it in the FO3 thread, so here's one.

Bethesda have announced their DLC plans:

This would be the highlight for me:
The big release will be Far Harbor, which will debut in May for $25. This content pack will open up an island off the coast of Maine for players to explore. The company claims that this DLC will offer more new landmass than any add-on it's ever created. Along with the new stomping grounds come new quests, settlements, creatures, and, of course, armor and weapons.
They're also increasing the price of the season pass due to the amount of DLC coming :^o

Heh, I guess there isn't as much interest in FO4 as there was in FO3.

Anyhow:

The game is finally getting official support for mods, which players can create themselves using the in-game Creation Kit.
...
Of course, you might just be interested in having mods in your game without having to make trips to the Nexus. Bethesda has made that particular task a lot easier now—the new beta version of Fallout 4 comes with an in-game mod browser which lets players install, rate, and bookmark their favorite modifications

The deluxe Pip-Boy is designed to look just like the one from the game. It has its own screen and software that emulate the iconic Pip-OS software. It's a bit heavy at 2 pounds, but it's lined with foam to fit most human arms—supermutants, ghouls, and other creatures need not apply.

Man, this game is awesome! :D

I can see this being the biggest constant time sink since Morrowind for me.

Now spent 90 hours playing this. Only played through about 5% of the quests. Just love exploring, hunting and scavenging.

Well now 260 hours in and up to level 73. I've played through the main game, set up all my settlements. Added some DLC (workshops and Automatron) and some mods.

I think I have maybe another 20 hours or so playing around with it then I'm done. I could play through it again with a new angle and faction selection or add on the other two DLC adventures but I think I'll leave it be. I don't think my Gf will be sad to see it go. [-X

Pretty good value for money really. :sweet:

I thought this was high until I checked steam - turns out I spent 359 hours in the game 8-O The only DLC I got was Far Harbor, but I did play through all the factions.

Now level 88 with 330+ hours. Bought Nuka and Far Harbour on Steam sale this weekend, also picked up New Vegas. Got Automatron a few weeks ago.

Will leave them for a little while.
