Finished the tutorial and landed in Manhattan, which I guess is the start of the game proper. It promptly crashed when I went into the map. I'll revert to DX11 and see if it's more stable.

It's either tough to play solo, or I need to adjust my play style to move around more. The AI is aggressive and mobile, though a bit bullet spongey. The shooting is fun, and the UI is definitely better designed for KB/mouse than Anthem's.

Have been playing this for 15 hours now and had two crashes in DX11 mode, but it seems to run smoothly enough. It does a good job at evoking what it's like to walk around lower Manhattan, and has some very nice volumetric lighting

It's been awhile since I played any sort of online game, so had forgotten how "creative" some people are with their nicknames.

Fortunately, you only see other players in the safe houses or if you group up to tackle a mission. I haven't felt the need to thus far as missions scale enemies depending on party size.

The game plays almost like a single-player "classic" rainbow six game, with realistic movement speeds, an emphasis on cover, but bullet sponge enemies. It's easily worth the price I paid for it.

Finished the SP campaign after about 45 hours - that was more fun than I originally expected. The story ends on a mild cliff-hanger, but you do get to find out how NY ended up the way it did.

Started fooling around with the Dark Zone which is where you see other players in-game, and they can go rogue (PvP) on you. It also has much tougher NPC's that have armor and are more inclined to flank you. It's a fun challenge, and surprisingly tense as you try to complete a successful extraction (airlift) of your loot.

The sequel is due out next month, but I'll wait to see if it's possible to play solo before buying it.

For anyone interested, the open beta for The Division 2 is pre-loading as of today. It runs from March 1st - 4th and looks to include a decent chunk of game:

The beta is free and open to anyone - not just those who pre-ordered the game.

Cool. Assuming you're on PC, my uplay nick is "dagrommit". Let me know what yours is and we can try grouping up for some co-op action.

Yeah, the game isn't available on steam. I used to dislike Uplay, but don't mind it now. It can be configured to NOT launch with Windows, and setup to only display your installed games.

Just noticed this ends on Monday, I'm not at home this weekend, so won't be able to play much, maybe on Monday, depending on what time the beta ends :-k :|
