I did with Starcraft 2 (battle.net) ladder games and trying to keep in touch with Steam friends. A nightmare.
That's just how it is on a PC. If you want seamless voice/chat integration across games just stick to Steam or get a console :)

EA Forum Bans Are STILL Affecting Games
...
We are receiving information from a number of gamers who have received forum bans for a variety of reasons who are finding they’re unable to play Battlefield 3 (or indeed any other game tied into the EA user account), and worse, when they try to contact EA for help sorting this out, they are either ignored or told it’s tough. So what’s going on?

EA’s Unwieldy Banhammer: EA Responds
...
I’ve responded to all involved at EA asking if we can just get a clear reply explaining what their current policy is. If it is the case, right now, that misbehaving on forums affects your Origin gaming, then we desperately want to be able to warn you about that, not least because we assured you the opposite eight months ago when EA told us that. I think it would be safe to say that were this EA’s current policy, we would strongly advise our readers to go nowhere near EA’s forums for fear of an errant ban directly affecting their ability to play games they have purchased. For now, until I receive clarification, I think we have to assume this is the case.

It’s also worth noting that those forum violations are pretty stringent – if quoting another’s use of “e-peen” is enough to see a ban (and in this guy’s case, a permanent ban!) then they need to make their guidelines a lot clearer.

Dear Origin,

For brevity, I'm not going to pick on Origin from a technical standpoint. Yes, your game install mechanics are clunky, your system of installing DLC is reportedly horrible (disclosure: I haven't tried it myself) and you're missing a lot of features that Steam users take for granted. I'm not even going to get into detail about your creepy and borderline predatory data-harvesting. We can leave these issues for another time, because you have problems that can't be fixed with a simple patch.

Greetings!
Your customers - the people who buy EA games on the PC - already have Steam accounts. Some of them have libraries of dozens or even hundreds of games. They have friends lists and achievements and Steam is already a part of their computer. They don't see a need for you.
This.
And launching games from a browser? Stop with that! Lost two 20+-tabs Firefox sessions due to the brilliance of Battlelog.

Origin auto-adding Steam-purchased EA titles :-
Electronic Arts is auto-adding EA titles that were purchased from Steam to a user’s EA Origin account. According to what we have been able to uncover, a number of Origin account holders have seen Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect showing up in Origin as games that they own

Yep, the thing is how did EA know which games went to whose account...
