The history of rare software that made SimCity look like Candy Crush in comparison.

At Ars Technica, when we notice multiple staffers go silent at the same time to read another site's article in its entirety, that flips a rare switch: time to tell our readers to click somewhere other than Ars (perish the thought) and give someone else some much-deserved clicks.

Carve some time to check out Salvador's incredible report, then hop from there to read other deep-dive, software-history content he's posted at his personal site, Obscuritory.

A superb read on the technicalities of the Amstrad CPC, it's now arguably proved that the CPC was actually the most capable 8-bit home computer (C64 still wins for audio though, that SID was just too good!).

For reference, this was the demo in 2011 that kind of blew the lid off the box.

It's more telling which large companies aren't on this list:

In response to the May 25 police killing of George Floyd and the subsequent protests against racist police violence, numerous game developers, publishers, and storefronts have expressed support for the Black Lives Matter movement on social media. Some have also begun making donations to support BLM and related causes, and are urging others to do the same.
EA donating US$1M was a surprise, even if it is a marketing move.

I've seen a few obviously racist names in Div2, but can only imagine it's worse in CoD which has a wider audience:

Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward has announced that the company will be issuing more bans for racist usernames, as well as taking more steps to monitor racist content in game in the future.
