Horizon Zero Dawn lands on PC on Friday, 7th August:

Someone should test this game with PS4 spec hardware (One of those octacore Atom Avoton boards with a HD 7850 would do) I'd imagine it'd struggle to hit 20fps.

You'd need a low end GPU with higher end RAM than those ever have, so it's not really comparable.

...oh hey another DX12 only game according to the specs.
Soon to be primarily a console gamer.

... when I booted the game on my 4K screen in full-screen mode, something didn't look right. It turned out that Horizon was rendering at 4K, downscaling to 1080p, then upscaling to 4K again.

Yeah there's some early issues with it for sure:

It reads like "how to throw processing power away in order to achieve stuttering and a lower fidelity result" :hoghappy:

Runs pretty well on Polaris based cards, better than Vega and Nvidia in regards to frame pacing, so it's likely a very 'raw' port so far.
I think the PCMR's are forgetting this is still a very good game.

It is the devs first PC game too.

Even Destiny 2 is pretty awful on PC atm...definitely a why bother if you like HDR unless you can figure out how to tweak it outside of the game.
