Red Dead Online’s next update makes life tougher for griefers
...
The update will include a handful of changes, the combination of which should make for an overall more pleasant experience. One of the biggest changes comes down to player visibility. Now, you’ll only be able to see other players if they’re within 150 meters of you, which should make it tougher for griefers to hunt down and annoy specific players. Similarly, those whom the game deems “overly aggressive players” will have their position revealed to everyone, and the map marker will change color to coincide with bad behavior; the worse you are, the darker red it turns. If you clean up your act, things will eventually go back to normal.

One of the ways the game previously tried to deal with bad behavior was through bounties; aggressive players would get a bounty on their head that other players could track down, and the worse your behavior, the higher the bounty was. Now that feature is expanding somewhat: in addition to other players tracking you down, you’ll now have to worry about new NPC bounty hunters as well.

For that nine-month period, Ubisoft recorded €1.32 billion (~$1.49 billion) in sales and €1.35 billion (~$1.53 billion) in net bookings (or sales plus deferred revenue from live games). Net bookings along saw a 13.5 increase over the €1.19 billion (~$1.34 billion) recorded during the same period last year.

Never understood why Razer of all people had a game store, but it's being closed soon:

https://www.polygon.com/2019/2/17/18228 ... activation
The Razer Game Store sold keys for Steam and Uplay games, so any game anyone has bought isn’t going away. However, those who haven’t yet activated any keys need to retrieve their keys from the Razer Game Store before the shutdown, which is 4 a.m. on Feb. 28. Game keys were also sent to customers via email, so they have records of them there, too.

Activision Explains Why It Broke Up with Bungie

Activision Blizzard revealed why it was severing ties with Bungie during this week’s conference call: Destiny simply wasn’t making enough money. "Destiny is highly critically acclaimed, high quality content, but it was not meeting our financial expectations," said President and Chief Operating Officer Coddy Johnson. He also said the game was tying up talent, as other developers (e.g., High Moon and Vicarious Visions) were tasked to assist Bungie in pumping out content faster.

No Link between Violent Video Games and Increased Aggression in Teens, Study Finds

In one of the most "definitive" studies to date, Oxford University has concluded that while video games can provoke "angry feelings or reactions," there was "no correlation found between playing video games and aggressive behaviour in teenagers." Lead researcher and professor Andrew Przybylski accuses previous studies of using cherry-picked results to fabricate a "moral panic" surrounding video games.
