It's very PR, but the nerf also affects gamers who will buy a 3060 to be able to mine occasionally also.
I'd hope it's just a temporary block, because I still don't like it when they nerf functionality like higher rate FP64 and multi stream NVENC which are enabled in the Quadro versions of the same architecture for example.
Will they take away compute entirely from gaming GPU's next?

If this numbers are right, the 3060 Ti has a constant 40% advantage, even the 2060S is faster, this makes no sense

192-bit memory bandwidth...
(Also only 3584/48 cores/ROPS compared to 4864/80 for the 3060 Ti)

Should have really been called a '3050 Ti' tbh, a desktop '3060' should have had at least 3840/64 cores/ROPS and 256-bit memory.
There are going to be a lot of idiots that will see the '12GB' and think it's better than what it actually is, 8GB of 256-bit memory would have been a far better choice for this class of card (at least performance wise).

What might save it a bit will be the Resize BAR support, but I guess we'll find that out soon.

Yeah to be fair most miners do undervolt them, which does save wear and tear on the silicon somewhat. Heat is the worst enemy, reapply the themal interface and they should be fine.
