It's a shame AMD still persist with blower fan reference cards.

I think I'll eventually upgrade to a 5700 in the next few weeks/months probably a Sapphire or MSI, depending on prices and availability. Interesting performance, and power draw looks ok for my 520W PSU :-k
No sig due to budget cuts.

Yeah not a bad call at all, even if AMD's cards currently lack features like VRS and DXR it's certainly not a deal breaker just yet.
But the OEM cards are certainly a lot better, and if I didn't already own a Vega 56 I'd be tempted to pick up another new Sapphire myself as this one has been superb so far.

Greetings!
JPR points to AMD GPU resurgence

AMD's graphics arm has cause to celebrate: Market watcher Jon Peddie Research claims that the company has begun shipping more graphics cards than rival Nvidia - for the first time in half a decade.

I just upped my 1070 to a 5700 XT (default blower design) and love it. It's nowhere near as loud as you'd think it would be.

Custom designs are possibly better but I did want the heat exiting my case this go.

Interesting. Did you feel a performance gain? Could you say how faster it is in comparison?

And how did you find this lost corner of the internets? :hypnodisk:

It is a mystery ;)

The perf jump w/ 1440p maxed out was huge! I love it. I've never been this happy with a vidcard upgrade...cept it not having HDMI 2.1, but oh well.

After reading the last TR review I didn't think a upgrade from a 1070 to a 5700 XT would make such a difference...

BTW, did you sell your 1070? 8-[
