I think it might happen because advertisers don't go after something very specific, but after some defined demographics, like 15-35 year old gamers. At a story I've read Google says the new method gave them 95% of the income of the old one. If Google isn't losing much money, they might just do it. The problem: will other advertisement companies be able to do the same after cookies are outlawed?
